The Cover Shot – Naveen Tewari, CEO InMobi - Pradhyumna Gupta Photography

CEOLounge magazine contacted me to shoot a few editorial images for their January 2020 issue featuring Naveen Tewari, CEO InMobi.

I had a 30 minute slot from 4 pm. However when I reached the InMobi offices I was informed that Naveen might be delayed as he was busy in back to back meetings, normal for a CEO. This however was a blessing in disguise as it gave me a lot more time to scout for some good locations and get my compositions and settings dialled-in.

I wanted to do more than just the regular (but safe) shot with the work cubicles as the background. I was shown a conference room which was anything but the regular run of the mill conference room. The InMobi conference room had vintage British style chairs, coloured cushions next to the windows, a step-wise gallery and a cafe-esque table and chairs. I envisioned 4 different shots in a single room.

Once I met Naveen, I knew this would be a good shoot. He was warm and had this uncanny ability to smile on cue but also make the smile look genuine, something that is not easy. And he was easy to have a conversation with. He asked me about how I got into photography, what were the latest trends etc and I asked him how InMobi was formed since I am from an IT background. All in all it was a really fun shoot.

I had my shots from the conference room and the work cubicles. Also during my recce I had seen a fantastic glowing sign of the company on another floor. Took Naveen there and had this shot done.
